Responsibilities
- Provide support to Vice President or Director as related to project management and its various a
- Prime interface with the customer on all contract issues both technically and commercially.
- Coordinate the activities of the Engineering group responsible for the design of the cars.
- Correspondence through letters, meeting minutes and memo writing.
- Interface with customers, U.S. vendors, inter-office departments.
- Address critical issues (i.e. cost, schedule, technical risk) of the project by providing and ex
- Monitor and report schedule status and progress.
- Attend project and engineering meetings at the customers, subcontractors or company sites both n
- Prepare and issue a monthly progress report for customer approval.
- Maintain a database of all actions and assure follow up.
- Act on behalf of Director of Projects in his/her absence.
- May be required to prepare and maintain the Project Master Schedule with appropriate software a
- Manage position to make best use of employees; select employees and develop their capabilities.
- Plan for succession of key personnel; counsel employes effectively; admnister discipline
- Handle resource matters in accordance with company policy and procedures.
- Establish work standards and schedules and ensure their effective implementation in the department.
- Assign work to employees and train employees in work procedures and methods.
- Review employees' work for adequacy and take steps to correct inadequate performance.
- Aprrove employees' work schedules and time reports.
Requirements and Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, project engineering, or project adm.
- Excellent communications skills.
- Knowledge and experience in the rail industry or closely related industry.
- Skilled in meeting management and coordination.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and computer skills.
- Multiple language skills a plus.
Education
- B.S. Degree of Engineering or its equivalent is required. PE certification a plus.
